1. Classification by Scanning Engine

According to internal scanning engine technology, handheld barcode scanners are mainly divided into three types: 1D Laser, 1D Red Light CCD, and 2D Image Imager.

1D Laser Scanner

The laser scanning engine only supports decoding physical printed 1D barcodes. It cannot read QR codes or electronic barcodes displayed on phone and tablet screens. 1D Red Light CCD Scanner

It can read all physical printed 1D and 2D QR codes, as well as electronic 1D and QR codes displayed on mobile device screens. In terms of data transmission and connection modes, handheld barcode scanners are classified into wired and wireless versions to meet different on-site operation requirements.
